Enter the AI-Assisted Art Competition

For anyone wanting to flex their creative muscles by seeing how artificial intelligence software can help them create artwork, we’re pleased to announce this brand-new category for the Art and Video Competition this year!

In this category, you are welcome to use AI software for as much or as little of the art creation process as you like (e.g. idea brainstorming, creation of an element of the artwork, full art generation, final polishing, etc.). We invite you to test the limits of current AI software and combine it with your best creative skills to bring to life a still visual artwork based on a scene from one of Chuck Black’s books.

Please note, no video submissions are to be included in this category. We will only be judging still visual artwork in the AI-Assisted Art category.

Please adhere to the following rules:

  1. You are welcome to use AI software to assist you in the development of any part of this visual artwork.

  2. You must list all AI programs used in the creation of the artwork in the submission form below. You must also briefly describe how each program assisted you in the creation of the artwork (e.g. creating a certain element of the artwork, developing visual ideas for the artwork, final polishing, etc.).

  3. Only one submission per person is allowed for this category. You may submit for more than one category.

  4. Your AI-assisted artwork must be based on a scene from one of Chuck Black’s book series, including The Starlore Legacy, The Wars of the Realm, The Kingdom Series, and The Knights of Arrethtrae.

  5. Submissions will be judged based on the following criteria: design and visual cohesion, strong link to book/s, creativity and flair, complexity and detail, and power and emotion.

  6. Please do not input any of Chuck Black’s books directly into any AI software at any time, including a chapter or a paragraph of a book.

  7. Please put your age in the submission form. Any contestants under 18 years of age will also need signed consent from a parent or guardian.

  8. Submission files must be in JPEG or PDF form and must be between 500 KB and 5 MB in size.

  9. Submissions close on 31 August, 2026.

  10. Winners will be notified by email in October 2026.
